Emiliano Sala’s Sister plead with rescue team to continue search after they formally call off the search of the missing plane. The sister had travelled to South Wales after a light aircraft carrying Sala and the pilot Dave Ibbotson disappeared from radar on Monday evening.

An emotional Romina Sala, speaking in Spanish, told reporters in Cardiff that she feels her brother and his pilot are still alive. Sala’s former club, Nantes also reacted to the decision to end the search and demanded it resumed.

Three planes and five helicopters racked up 80 hours combined flying time looking for the plane, working alongside two lifeboats and other passing ships.

An investigation into whether the missing flight that was carrying Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala was properly licensed is taking place.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch said it had launched a probe. “We are looking at all operational aspects of the flight including licensing,” a spokesman said.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the aircraft was registered in the US, so fell under its regulations.

Cardiff City signed 28-year-old Sala for a club-record £15m to bolster their attack and he had been due to start training on Tuesday.

Lagos Court Issues Bench Warrant Against Jay Jay Okocha

Lagos division of the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Super Eagles star, Austin Okocha, over tax evasion charges.

Justice Adedayo Akintoye issued the warrant for the arrest of the former Eagles captain on January 29 and thereafter adjourned until February 19.

FIFA Bans Chelsea From Signing New Players, Gives Three Days To Appeal

Chelsea have been banned by FIFA from signing players for two transfer windows after being found guilty of breaching rules in signing youth players.

FIFA announced that the premier league club were found guilty of 29 incidences of breaching article 19, which relates to the transfer of players aged under 18.

Chelsea have also been fined more than £460,000, while the FA face a £390,000 sanction. The FA will appeal the fine, citing “concerns” with FIFA’s disciplinary processes. It comes following a FIFA investigation into Chelsea’s signing of foreign under-18 players, including former striker Bertrand Traore.

The ban which is to last until the end of January 2020, does not prevent Chelsea from releasing players does not apply to their women’s and futsal teams. According to reports, the transfer of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea is most likely not affected as the player was registered in FIFA’s Transfer Matching System (TMS) in January.
