Australia Open: Andy Murray Bids Farewell After Losing To Roberto Bautista

Andy Murray was beaten by World No 23, Roberto Bautista in a thrilling five-set encounter which lasted for two hours and nine minutes.

The Briton looked set for a sad straight sets defeat against Roberto Bautista Agut before a stunning fightback to win two tiebreaks and take this first round tie to a fifth set. The game ended 6-4 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-7 (4) 6-2 in favour of Bautista.

31-years-old Murray said after the game that, if this was his last match, then it is an amazing way to end.

Murray had said on Friday that the Australian Open tournament could be his last after struggling with severe hip injury for a while now. The former champion also added that, “Maybe I’ll see you again,” he said. “I’ll do everything possible to try.”

U-17 AFCON: Eaglets Beats Tanzania In A Thrilling 5-4 Encounter

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets won their opening match, 5-4, against hosts Tanzania in Dar Es Salaam at the 13th Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday.

That victory took the eaglets top of Group A ahead of the other clash between Angola and Uganda.

The Eaglets will take on Angola on Wednesday, while the Serengeti Boys will go up against Uganda.

If the Golden Eaglets win, they will have a place in the AFCON semi-finals, and a place at the FIFA U-17 world cup finals in Brazil later this year.

32nd Africa Cup of Nations finals will hold in Cairo

The draw ceremony for the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations finals will hold in Cairo on Friday.

It is the biggest Africa Cup of Nations finals in the history of the competition.  It will feature 24 teams, as against three teams that took part in the first edition of the competition in Sudan 62 years ago.

Egypt is also the country that has participated the most in the championship, while Nigeria will make her 18th appearance.

The 32nd Africa Cup of Nations will take place from June the 21st to July the 19th.
