NCAA Begins Investigation On Oshinbajo's Helicopter's Crash

Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Accident Investigation Bureau have confirmed that investigation had started into Saturday’s helicopter crash involving the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, in  Kabba, Kogi State.

NCAA Public Relations, Sam Adurogboye said the investigation was being conducted by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) whose General Manager, Public Relations, Tunji Oketunbi said, they have also deployed safety investigators to the site.

The helicopter conveying the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his entourage on Saturday crash-landed in Kabba township stadium. The VP and all others on board were rescued and freed from their sit belts and carried out of the chopper, then continued with the campaign engagements in the state.

According to a statement by the Osinbajo’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande he said the VP expressed thanks to Nigerians for their concern over the helicopter crash.

One of Osinbajo’s aides, Babafemi Ojudu, who was on board the crashed helicopter, narrated his experience on social platform as he said they were lucky that the helicopter crash landed and did not burst into flames. “To family, friends and associates, thank you all for your concern and show of love and affection. I can’t thank you enough. It was a miracle we survived.

“The seat belts did a marvelous job and so were the security men on the ground, who quickly pulled us out of the wreckage not minding their own safety. We were also calm all through the ordeal. There was no panic of any kind,” Ojudu said.
