2019 Elections: Atiku Warns INEC To Be Independent

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has told the people of the northeast region to vote for him in the upcoming elections because he is one of them.

Abubakar was campaigning in Damaturu, Yobe State, where he said the region had never produced a Nigerian president since the Tafawa Balewa administration of the 1960s.  He said this election presents them with another opportunity to produce the next Nigerian president.

Abubakar tried to woo the youth and women by promising them opportunities to serve in his government if elected.

The presidential candidate warned security operatives and staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to be just that, independent.  He advised them to take no sides in the election.
