More Girls Continue To Take Interest In Kenya`s Women Rugby

Kenya`s women rugby teams have ramped up for the sevens world series and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as the country continues to attract more girls to take interest in sport.

The 2019 Kenya Rugby Women’s League 10-a-side festival kicked off at the beginning of February, that will lead to the sevens series qualifiers in Hong Kong, as well as the national team’s run-up to the 2020 Olympics. Many talented young girls have been attracted to rugby clubs.

Kenya plans to hold more competitions in 2019, particularly grassroots ones, as it is seeking to expand the sport and reinforce the national women’s team, who have set their eyes on defending their African title and making their international mark.
