Enugu State FA Chairman Says Christian Chukwu In Good Health

Chairman of Enugu State Football Association and member of the Nigerian Football Federation executive committee, Chidi Okenwa, has confirmed that Nigerian legend Christian Chukwu, is in good health and of sound spirit.

There was an outcry over the weekend over the true state of health of Nigeria’s 1980 AFCON-winning team captain.

NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, had mandated Okenwa to visit Chukwu to find out what needed to be done to get him back to good health.  He had promised NFF would do the needful in that regard.

Okenwa said Chukwu is in very stable condition and is receiving adequate care in a medical facility in Enugu State.

U-17 AFCON: Eaglets Beats Tanzania In A Thrilling 5-4 Encounter

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets won their opening match, 5-4, against hosts Tanzania in Dar Es Salaam at the 13th Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday.

That victory took the eaglets top of Group A ahead of the other clash between Angola and Uganda.

The Eaglets will take on Angola on Wednesday, while the Serengeti Boys will go up against Uganda.
